SOCHO BECHO SEEKHO!!!
On the occasion of the 74th Independence Day of India, NITIE inaugurated Swadeshi Mandi digitally. This event was joined by several dignitaries including our Director Prof. Manoj Tiwari, NITIE faculty members and a chief guest from the Ministry of HRD.
The concept of Mandi is unique as it aims to teach B School students to practically apply the concepts they have learned in class. It also aims to encourage the entrepreneurial spirit as being self employed can make one truly independent!
Us students got the chance to hear-
1. Dr. Abhay Jere – Chief Innovation Officer, Ministry of HRD, Govt. Of India
Dr. Abhay Jere spoke about Aatmanirbhar Bharat. He stressed that there is no dearth of ideas & that we are nation of 1.3 billion & we should become self reliant. Why should we need to look to foreign countries when we ourselves have an immense capacity?
The COVID crisis has taught us the value of local products. We need to be promote local products for boosting India's economy.
Employing people instead of being employed is the need of the hour. To achieve the $ 5 trillion economy, we all need to play a big role in it.
2. Ms. Apeksha; founder of “Zayka Ka Tadka”
Zayka ka Tadka started off as a blog and an online recipe sharing community in early 2015, then went on to become a text recipe sharing platform officially in 2017. The next year, Zayka Ka Tadka pivoted to become a live cooking video platform. It was started by Ms. Apeksha, who is a NITIE alum, and her mother.
Ms. Apeksha had earlier joined the prestigious company P&G. But she later realized that having a startup was her dream. So, she quit her job to start this cooking platform. She encouraged us to follow innovation as a career option. She also mentioned to never stop dreaming.
She described to us how an idea can be generated. We just have to look around us and think about what things can we change and improve. Doing so will generate multiple ideas. The next step becomes executing those ideas by assembling a proper team.
This example shows us that nothing is impossible. All we need to do is to come up with an innovative idea and stick to it.
We all need to become employable, but not necessarily become an employee. Instead, we should aim to become an employer generating Jobs.
With all the recent initiatives taken by the Indian Government promoting people become Aatmanirbhar, we should actively seek to be Job Givers!
